She maintains an awkward friendship with Choi Soo-yeon, a former colleague and now CEO of Taesan Law Firm. Together they work on the case of Gye Hyang-sim, a North Korean defector jailed for five years for demanding money from a debtor.
As they work on the case, Soo-yong becomes emotionally invested in it as she strives to prove Gye Hyang-sim’s innocence. Additionally, she reveals to her team that she is the daughter of Tae Soo-mi, an affluent and well-known lawyer in college.

In an interview with South Korean media outlets, ASTORY CEO Lee Sang Baek revealed their company is working on plans for another season of when attorney woo and will engage fans through webtoons, musical productions and merchandise sales.
