Extraordinary Attorney Woo – Which Attorney Woo Character Are You?
Young-woo is the latest addition to Hanbada law firm and an extraordinary talent yet shy individual. Her photographic memory and an IQ score of 164 make her stand out, yet she shows signs of autism through echolalia (repeating other people’s words back) and anxiety-related blunt honesty.
She manages complex legal cases thanks to Jung Myung-seok, her senior associate. Additionally, she develops romantic feelings for Lee Jun-ho who helps support her team.
Woo Young Woo
Woo Young-woo, an associate at Hanbada Law Firm and a newcomer attorney, quickly learns her craft thanks to her meticulous approach to cases and detailed analysis. Her hard work pays off in court.
Woo was raised by her father, who can sometimes be overprotective but loves her unwaveringly. Unfortunately, her mother never visits as she got pregnant out of wedlock with a poor man and chose to forego her law career so as to protect their daughter.
Jung Myung-seok places her on an experienced team comprised of Choi Su-yeon (Ha Yoon Kyung) and Kwon Min Woo (Joo Jong Hyuk).
Though Woo is difficult to communicate with others, she’s adept at thinking like a lawyer and using both her knowledge of law and whales to her advantage in court. She uses whale behavior analogies as a form of relaxation between difficult cases; furthermore, her harsh yet direct language could either benefit her case or be detrimental.
Lee Jun Ho
Extraordinary Attorney Woo is an engaging drama that delves deep into contemporary social issues while exploring its characters’ personal lives, such as their romantic relationships. Thus, Extraordinary Attorney Woo encourages viewers to find love that suits them and remain secure within it.
The show also portrays realistic scenarios like sensory overload and overeating or becoming overwhelmed in certain environments, as well as the impact of judges’ styles on cases and the distinctions among law firms regarding exclusivity and exclusiveness.
Woo’s personality traits in the show mirror those of an individual with autism: sensory sensitivities, repetitive behaviors, an affinity for law and marine life as interests, difficulty with changes to routine (common among those living with autism), tendencies toward overeating or overworking; however she never lets these limitations define her; taking on cases with the support of Hanbada law firm mentors and supportive colleagues.
Dong Geu Ra Mi
Woo Young-Woo and two other rookie attorneys at Hanbada. Despite her hierarchical relationship, she treats Woo as an equal and shows great patience when accommodating for his quirks and eccentricities. Furthermore, she shares an important family secret with them over time.
Verbal Tics: She exhibits echolalia, the tendency to repeat words she hears from others, as well as closing her eyes and counting three before entering new spaces to lessen any shock that might otherwise come her way. Wardrobe Flaw of Characterization: Her clothes seem too large.
Geu-ra-mi is an avid supporter and best friend to Woo Young-Woo, providing them with both support and listening ear when needed. She enjoys giving nicknames, giving out nicknames herself, and started dyeing their hair in high school.
Kang Ki Young
Even as a novice, Hanbada gives her challenging cases that push her limits. But, her autism spectrum disorder makes it difficult for her to stand up for herself and rely on others’ kindness.
Jung Myung-seok and Choi Su-yon take her in stride while coworker Lee Jun Ho has taken an interest in her.
Young Woo likes to use her free time between cases to relax by thinking about whales and their behavior. Her empathic approach in communicating with clients impressed her employer who initially assumed she would be less capable due to her disability.
Kang Ki Young is an award-winning actor best known for his roles as Kim Bok Joo’s sweet best friend in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, a psychopath restaurant owner in While You Were Sleeping and Secretary Kim’s dependable uncle in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.
